No-School Day Camps in Austin: 2026–27 Guide by Area & School District

Last Updated: August 2026

I still remember the first “student holiday” that caught me off guard — a random Monday with no school, no plan, and a 9 a.m. meeting I couldn’t move. If you’ve ever squinted at the calendar and thought “wait, they’re off AGAIN?” — same.

Austin-area school calendars are packed with days off beyond summer: student holidays, staff development days, and the big breaks. Parents in the US are dealing with 80+ weekdays off of school on average, and Recess has come to the rescue for when you’re working and you need a trusted place for the kids to be.

Recess was started by two parents who wanted to make sure families always had coverage for these days. So we’ve pulled your school calendar and listed every camp option into one place. Find your area below, and remember: this list is updated as new options become available, so bookmark it and check back before each day off.

Yes — you can book a camp for almost every Austin-area no-school day in 2026–27. This guide is organized by area and school district, so you’re only looking at camps you’d actually drive to: Central & South Austin (Austin ISD), Cedar Park & Leander (Leander ISD), and Round Rock & Pflugerville (Round Rock ISD & Pflugerville ISD). Find your area, pick your day off, and book.
