About

The Juneteenth long weekend just wrapped up, but for student musicians ages 11 to 18 who are ready to take their playing to a whole new level, the fun is just getting started — Austin Soundwaves' Level Up & Lead Camp runs June 22–26 and is one of the most ambitious music camp experiences in Austin. Designed for band and orchestra students with two to seven or more years of playing experience, campers are placed into chamber groups and a full symphony orchestra through a placement audition or assessment, then spend the week rehearsing challenging repertoire, developing musical independence, and stepping into leadership roles. Beyond ensemble rehearsals and sectionals, students dive into exciting electives like conducting, recording, beat making, improvisation, composition, and audition prep — all building toward a celebratory end-of-week showcase performance. Daily lunchtime concerts by special guest artists add an extra layer of inspiration throughout the week. Early drop-off at 8:30 AM is included in tuition, and late pickup from 3:45 to 5:30 PM is available for an additional flat fee. Pack your instrument, a lunch, and a snack to fuel a full day of music-making, and come dressed in comfortable clothes. With only 5 spots remaining, now is the time to secure your young musician's place in this extraordinary week!
