High School Summer Camp (Ages 14-18)

About

Rowing is one of the most demanding and rewarding sports your teen will ever try — and this is exactly where that story begins. High schoolers ages 14–18 (grades 9–12) are invited to join Texas Rowing Center's High School Summer Camp in Austin, a focused morning program running 9:00 AM to noon on the stunning waters of Lady Bird Lake. First-time rowers work through the fundamentals of technique, balance, and stroke mechanics through the structured Introduction to Rowing course, while returning campers step right into skill refinement and progression. With a counselor-to-camper ratio of 1:4–5, every participant gets real, hands-on attention on the water. Pack a snack, lunch, and a refillable water bottle to stay fueled and hydrated through the morning; also bring sunscreen, a towel, a hat, sunglasses, and closed-toed shoes or water shoes. Teens who fall in love with the sport are encouraged to continue developing their skills in the after-school Juniors Program throughout the school year. Spots are limited — lock in a week on the water before they fill up!
