About

What if the best way to kick off a Fourth of July weekend was four days of hands-on engineering? This 4-day camp runs Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2 — wrapping up just in time for the holiday weekend — giving kids ages 5–8 a full week's worth of STEM excitement before the festivities begin. Through IDEA Lab Kids' design-based learning approach, young engineers explore how vehicles move, turn, and stop by building and testing their own prototypes, experimenting with ramps and inclined planes, and investigating how force, friction, and gravity work together to get things rolling. Each day is packed with four hands-on project sessions where kids brainstorm, build, test, fail, improve, and share — building not just vehicles but real engineering habits of mind like critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative persistence. Campers should dress comfortably in clothes that can get messy and wear closed-toe shoes. A snack is provided each day, but kids need to bring their own nut-free lunch. Extended care is available before and after camp for an additional fee — drop-off as early as 7:30 AM and pickup as late as 6:00 PM — making it a flexible option for working families. Only 10 spots are available for this session, so don't wait to secure your little engineer's seat before the week fills up.
