About

The future of fashion starts in the sewing room — and for young designers ages 8–11, it starts this summer at Creative Action's Fashion Forward Camp. This two-week deep dive into the art and craft of sustainable design is led by professional teaching artists who bring the full sewing room experience to life. Campers spend their days sketching, constructing, and refining their own fashion line using sustainable textiles, building real skills in garment design, material selection, and creative storytelling through clothing — all building toward a Runway Showcase on the final day where they premiere their local line for friends and family. Beyond the sewing, every week is packed with bonus fun: a T-shirt giveaway, a Mobile Game Bus, ice pops, a dance party, and the big Friday showcase. Camp runs 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM daily. Kids should wear comfortable clothes they can move and get a little messy in — closed-toe shoes are strongly encouraged. Pack a sack lunch and a morning snack daily; Creative Action provides an afternoon snack for all campers. A water bottle and any sunscreen or bug spray your child needs round out the packing list. No extended care is available before or after camp hours. Spots are limited — grab your future designer's place in the studio before the collection closes.
