About
Electricity is everywhere — and at IDEA Lab Kids' Beginner Electrical Engineering camp, kids ages 7-9 get to figure out how it actually works. Through hands-on builds with motors, sensors, and LEDs, young engineers explore circuits, learn what makes things light up and move, and complete projects that genuinely feel like magic until you understand the science behind them. Built around IDEA Lab Kids' design-based learning methodology, every session walks campers through the full engineering process — asking questions, building prototypes, testing, and improving — so kids leave not just with cool projects but with real problem-solving habits. Sessions run 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily — a great morning option throughout the summer. Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes are all kids need. Kids should bring their own nut-free snack and a water bottle each day. Extended care is available after camp for an additional fee with pickup as late as 6:00 PM. Multiple sessions run throughout the summer — reserve your young engineer's week before it fills up.
