About
Young Peoples Workshop (YPW) is Austin's first and most beloved Spanish immersion school, founded in 2005 by husband-and-wife bilingual educators Monica Moreno and Ramon Aguirre with a mission to spark curiosity and bilingual confidence in children from infancy through elementary age. At YPW's Westlake campus, children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade spend their day immersed in Spanish through math, science, cooking, art, music, and movement — learning the language the way researchers say is most effective: by using it to do things they love. The school's award-winning curriculum supports intellectual, social-emotional, and cultural growth, and the afterschool program provides homework help, Spanish enrichment workshops, and transportation pickup from select Eanes ISD schools. Summer, winter, and spring break camps offer half-day and full-day options for ages 3 and up, blending projects, outdoor exploration, and full Spanish immersion in small groups. An afternoon snack is provided during afterschool care; camp families should send a labeled lunch, water bottle, and sunscreen. Comfortable, easy-care clothing is ideal for active, hands-on days at YPW.
