About

V.O.W. Jiu-Jitsu in Austin's North Loop neighborhood is a welcoming, community-first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym where kids are introduced to the art of BJJ in a casual, friendly environment that takes the training seriously without taking itself too seriously. Established in 2018 under the name Village of Wolves, the gym offers two kids programs — Kids Gi and Kids No-Gi — held multiple times per week and designed to meet young students wherever they are, regardless of experience level. In Kids Gi classes, children train in traditional BJJ uniforms, building a strong technical foundation in grip work, control, leverage, and fundamental technique while also absorbing the discipline and respect that come with the tradition of wearing the Gi. Kids No-Gi classes take a faster, more dynamic approach — training in athletic wear, developing agility, adaptability, and the kind of real-world self-defense awareness that parents appreciate. Both formats build the same core qualities: focus, confidence, problem-solving, physical fitness, emotional regulation, and the kind of genuine camaraderie that turns classmates into lasting friends. Kids should wear their Gi to Gi class and comfortable athletic shorts and a fitted shirt or rash guard for No-Gi; first-timers can show up in athletic wear while they get their footing. Snacks and meals are not provided. For a kid who needs an outlet that builds both body and character in a gym that feels more like a community than a competition, V.O.W. is exactly that kind of place.
