Tutu School brings the magic of classical ballet to children ages 6 months through 8 years through its beloved Ballet Storytime curriculum, which uses the stories and scores of famous classical ballets to develop little bodies and big imaginations at the same time. North and South Austin locations are both owned by Colette — a dance professional and educator who has channeled her lifelong love of movement into making ballet joyful, accessible, and developmentally appropriate for the youngest dancers. Classes are thoughtfully designed with the guidance of both dance professionals and child development specialists, so that technique is introduced at exactly the right pace for each age and stage — from Baby Ballet, where caregiver participation brings the magic to life, through the older divisions where young dancers build poise, coordination, and confidence class by class. Unlimited make-up classes and a flexible schedule make it easy for busy families to stay consistent. Little dancers should wear a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes; a pink or lavender tutu is always welcome. Pack a water bottle and a light snack for after class.
