About
Thinkery is Austin's premier children's museum and STEAM learning powerhouse — a beloved nonprofit institution at 1830 Simond Ave in Mueller that has been equipping and inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers for years through interactive exhibits, innovative programs, and now one of Austin's most popular and genuinely impactful summer and spring break camp experiences for young learners. Thinkery Camps serve children from rising Kindergarten through 5th grade (grade ranges vary by camp location) at multiple Austin campuses — Mueller (rising K–3rd grade), North Austin at Indeed/Domain Tower (rising 1st–5th grade), and additional partner locations — with weekly themed STEAM adventures that rotate across topics including Nature, Art, Maker, Storytelling, Community, Mission Possible, Quantum Quest, Into the Ocean, and more, ensuring no two weeks feel the same. Every camp day centers on Thinkery's hallmark approach: learning that happens through play, tinkering with real tools, hands-on technology, and messy making, all in a joyful, nurturing environment where campers are the leaders of their own adventures and grow durable skills — creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, tool fluency, and resilience — that serve them far beyond the classroom. Camp runs Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.; aftercare is available from 3–5 p.m. for an additional cost. Thinkery is a nut-free space. Campers bring a packed lunch plus two snacks per day (morning and afternoon snack times); no snacks or meals are provided. Wear comfortable, active clothing your child can move, build, and get messy in.
