Squizzle Brand Camp

Squizzle Brand Camp is a hands-on branding and design camp for kids ages 10–15 — roughly rising 6th through 9th graders — held at Mariposa Montessori in South Austin. No prior design or business experience is needed; campers just bring curiosity and creativity, and everything is taught from scratch. Each week, small groups choose a product category — options range from beverages, chocolate, cereal, and ice cream to self-care products, snacks, restaurant concepts, apparel, beauty products, and fragrances, or campers can pitch their own original idea — and build a complete imaginary brand around it. They work through naming, color theory, typography, taglines, mascots, packaging design, and branded merchandise, guided by a curriculum developed by professional designers and branding experts. Mornings focus on learning and creative ideation, while afternoons shift to hands-on production; most of the work is analog and group-based, with technology introduced sparingly. Campers who attend multiple weeks tackle a fresh product category each time, so the experience never repeats. By the end of the week, every camper goes home with a full brand portfolio, including physical packaging designs and branded merchandise. Comfortable, creative-friendly clothing is a practical choice for the hands-on workshop environment. Lunch and snacks are not provided — campers should arrive each day with a packed meal.
