About
On the ice, every small breakthrough feels enormous — and at Skate VIDA, that's exactly the point. Based in Austin at The Pond Hockey Club, Skate VIDA welcomes skaters of all ages and levels, from complete beginners as young as 2.5 years old all the way through competitive athletes, offering a progressive curriculum that grows alongside each child. In group Learn to Skate classes, kids work through four levels of skill development — starting with balance, gliding, and safe falling, then advancing through edges, turns, and power before beginning spin positions and their first single jumps — with each level pairing on-ice instruction alongside off-ice strength and conditioning work. Small group sizes keep the environment personal and encouraging, and coaches take an athlete-first approach that measures progress by confidence and skill mastery rather than medals or rankings. Skaters should dress in warm, form-fitting athletic layers with gloves, and helmets are strongly encouraged for young and first-time skaters; rental skates are available on site. Snacks are not provided, so pack one if your skater needs fuel for the session. Whether your child is wobbling onto the ice for the very first time or chasing their first competition, Skate VIDA is where the love of skating — and the grit it builds — takes hold for good.
