Saplings Studio is a playful, process-focused art studio for kids ages 3 and up, founded by Jaclyn, a 15-year early childhood educator who believes every child is an artist and every mess is a masterpiece in the making. The Anderson Mill studio operates as a drop-in creative space where kids walk in, choose from a rotating menu of hands-on projects — think tote bags, fairy castles, wall signs, jewelry boxes, animal figurines, seasonal crafts, and more — then paint, decorate, and personalize at their own pace before taking their creation home. Beyond the drop-in studio, Saplings also offers weekly classes, camps, special events, and parties across their locations, covering a wide range of art-making experiences from clay and printmaking to textile art and sculpture for kids from toddlers through age 12. Everything at Saplings is intentionally designed to be developmentally appropriate, process-first, and genuinely fun — no pressure for a perfect result, just the joy of making something. All art supplies are provided and cleanup is handled, so parents can actually relax. An adult must stay with their child during studio visits. For camps, kids should come prepared with a water bottle, a packed lunch, a separately packed snack, and sunscreen and a hat for outdoor play. Lunch and snacks are not provided for camps. Wear clothes that can get messy across all programs — washable paint is used when possible, but there are no guarantees. For kids who love to create, explore, and get their hands wonderfully dirty, Saplings Studio is the kind of place they'll be asking to come back to every week.
