Paragon Prep Preschool is one of Austin's most celebrated and long-established early childhood programs — a warm, accredited private school founded in 1985 that has served families in Tarrytown, Highland Park, Hyde Park, Central Austin, and University Hills for over 40 years, earning consistent recognition from families and independent reviewers as one of the very best places in Austin to give a young child their first and most important school experience. The preschool campus on Houston Street serves children from 6 weeks through the preschool years (and feeds into the sister K–8 elementary and middle school campus on Great Northern), using the proprietary Links to Learning curriculum — developed by Paragon's own education team — across a complete set of age-grouped programs: Infant, Beginners (ages 2–3), Intermediates (ages 3–4), Pre-K (ages 4–5), and Kindergarten, each building systematically on the last across literacy, math, science, social studies, social-emotional learning, Spanish, music, and creative play. Every preschool student benefits from specialist teachers in music and Spanish, enrichment classes including cooking, and field trips that connect classroom learning to the wider world. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided and included in tuition; parents pack lunch each day. Before- and after-school extended care and summer camps are available. Open Monday–Friday 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Dress children in comfortable, easy-to-change clothing and send a labeled change of clothes.
