A proudly Texas-born, family-owned music school with locations in Lakeway and Dripping Springs, Lone Star School of Music was built on the belief that music belongs to everyone — and that every student deserves a lesson plan as unique as they are. Starting at age 5, kids can take private one-on-one lessons or join group classes across a wide range of instruments including piano, guitar, drums, voice, ukulele, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, French horn, tuba, violin, viola, and more, with music production also on offer for budding creators. Every instructor goes through a rigorous background check and vetting process, and takes the time to learn each student's goals, personality, learning style, and musical taste before building a personalized curriculum around them. Group options bring an added layer of fun — from beginner piano and rock band ensembles to voice groups and songwriting — giving students the experience of making music together. The school places a special emphasis on inclusivity, with instructors trained to support students with special needs through adaptive techniques and personalized plans. To keep students motivated, Lone Star offers performance opportunities throughout the year including recitals, talent shows, open mics, and music competitions, giving every student a real chance to shine on stage. In-home lessons are also available for families who prefer learning in their own space. Snacks are not provided, so be sure to pack one to keep your young musician fueled and focused.
