HITS Theatre

Nestled in the Heights and rooted in over 40 years of nurturing young performers, HITS Theatre is one of Houston's most beloved nonprofit performing arts schools — where kids and teens in grades K–12 don't just take theatre classes, they become storytellers, collaborators, and confident communicators. Students choose from performance classes that culminate in fully produced musicals complete with costumes, sets, lighting, and props; technique classes focused on honing specific skills in acting, voice, and dance; and private lessons for personalized coaching in monologues, audition prep, and more. Every class is taught by skilled professionals who understand that the stage is one of the most powerful places a young person can find their voice — building creativity, discipline, and social-emotional skills that carry well beyond the curtain call. Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing is recommended for class, and a labeled water bottle is always a good idea. Snacks are not provided, so pack one for longer rehearsal days. HITS Theatre is where kids discover that the stage isn't just a place they perform — it's where they find out who they truly are.
