Hello Dancer is a children's dance studio on Burnet Road in Central Austin offering classes and camps for children from 2 months through age 8, with no competitions, no pressure, and absolutely no traditional recitals. Founded by April Peters — a former professional dancer and mom of three — the studio is built around a whole child approach that blends dance technique with creativity, imagination, and joy, using small class sizes of 6 to 8 kids so every child gets personal attention. Programs span every early stage: a Baby Mommy & Me class for infants, a Toddler Wiggle Tots class for walking toddlers through age 3 (both with a caregiver), a PreK program for ages 3–4, and Children's classes for ages 5–8 covering Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Creative Movement. Parents can always watch from a dedicated open viewing area, and each session wraps up with an "Informance" — Hello Dancer's take on the end-of-session celebration — where parents are welcomed into the studio for the final class to watch their child dance up close in a warm, intimate setting. Summer and holiday camps are also available for ages 3–8, packed with themed dancing, games, and crafts, with snacks provided daily. Dance-appropriate attire — leotards, tutus, or comfortable movement clothes — is the practical choice for class. Camp children must be potty trained.
