Girlstart provides immersive STEM enrichment programs for girls in 4th through 8th grades, fostering confidence and curiosity through hands-on exploration. All skill levels are welcome to participate in activities ranging from robotics and coding to video game development and engineering challenges, all designed around an inquiry-based model that encourages girls to think like scientists. Because the curriculum is explicitly aligned with TEKS and national standards, these programs directly support the core concepts tested on the math and science STAAR exams. Participants should come prepared in comfortable athletic clothing and are required to wear closed-toe tennis shoes for safety during experiments and play. For after-school sessions, daily snacks are provided, but students are asked to bring a daily packed lunch.
