About
Founded by Sarah Sneesby — a mother of three, director, choreographer, and movement specialist with an MFA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and over 20 years of teaching experience — Creative Space Katy was born from a deeply personal mission: to create the kind of safe, nurturing, and expertly taught performing arts space she wanted for her own children. Starting as young as 18 months, kids are welcomed into parent-and-me classes that blend music, movement, and imaginative play to build early confidence, coordination, and social skills. As children grow, they move through a thoughtfully structured spiral curriculum in dance — covering Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Tumbling, and Musical Theatre — with classes grouped by both age and ability so every student is always learning alongside peers at a similar stage. Kids and teens ages 5–18 can also explore theatre, voice, and the Triple Threat Academy, where acting, dancing, and singing come together in a program designed to build well-rounded performers from the inside out. Progress check-ins each semester give parents concrete, personalized feedback on how their child is growing. Kids should wear comfortable, easy-to-move-in clothing — skirts or athletic dresses are fine with leggings or bike shorts underneath. Dance shoes (jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or character heels with heel protectors) or form-fitting traction socks are required on the dance floor; street shoes are not permitted. Snacks are not provided, so pack one along with a water bottle — only water is allowed in the facility, and the space is nut-free. Extended care is available before and after camp for half-day and full-day campers at an additional fee. Whether your child takes their first twirl at 18 months or steps into their first acting class at 15, Creative Space Katy gives every young artist the technique, the confidence, and the community to truly shine.
