About

Crafternoon ATX is a creative arts studio nestled in a charming turquoise house in East Austin, where kids ages 5–13 get to slow down, get their hands messy, and make something truly their own. Founded in 2017 by teaching artist Camille Lema, Crafternoon blends process art, nature-based learning, and cultural storytelling into hands-on projects that build creative confidence, emotional expression, and a genuine sense of belonging. Kids explore a wide range of mediums and themes — from mixed media and illustration to outdoor art inspired by the natural world — guided by a diverse team of passionate artists and educators who keep groups intentionally small so every child gets real, personal attention. Programs include drop-in sessions, semester classes, seasonal and holiday camps aligned with the AISD calendar, class packs, and studio rentals for private events. Since much of the learning happens outdoors, kids should dress for the season and come prepared with a packed lunch, extra snacks, water, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent — none of these are provided. Spanish-language instruction is also available.
