Renaissance Camp
AGES 8-12
About
Where traditional art meets modern maker tools, creativity takes on a whole new dimension — Asmbly Makerspace's Renaissance Camp invites kids ages 8–12 into Austin's largest nonprofit makerspace for a half-day of hands-on building, designing, and fabricating. Available in morning sessions (8 AM–12 PM) and afternoon sessions (1–5 PM) throughout the summer, campers experiment across multiple materials and processes — from woodshop and laser cutters to 3D printing and more — working in small groups guided by experienced makers and educators. Every project is finished and goes home with your camper, making this a week where creativity results in something real and worth being proud of. No prior experience is needed; all materials are included. Dress your maker in comfortable clothes they don't mind getting creative in, and pack a snack to fuel the build session. Campers who want a full day of making can register for both the morning and afternoon sessions — just pack a lunch, as it's not provided. Whether your child loves art, engineering, or just figuring out how things work, Renaissance Camp gives them the tools — literally — to find out what they're capable of.
