Houston: After-School Term
AGES 7-12
About
This 10-week after-school film program gives kids ages 7–17 the chance to experience the full filmmaking process from idea to finished movie. Students work with the same crew and instructor each week, giving them time to build confidence, collaborate, and develop their creative voice.
The program begins with acting games, equipment basics, and story pitching, then moves into scriptwriting, shot planning, casting, costumes, and set building. Students then bring their ideas to life during production before finishing with editing, sound, titles, and a final screening of their completed film.
No prior filmmaking experience is needed. The program is designed to help students strengthen creativity, communication, teamwork, and confidence while producing a film they can be proud to put their name on.
