About

What if your kid could spend a week designing, building, and actually playing their own original board game — and then take it home? At Asmbly Makerspace's Board Game Camp, that's exactly what happens. Designed for young makers ages 10 to 14, this half-day camp runs Monday through Friday and gives campers a fully guided, hands-on experience creating a tabletop game from scratch using digital design tools and real maker technology. From designing the game board and crafting physical pieces and components to playtesting and refining the rules through guided play, every step of the process is project-driven and deeply creative. No prior experience with tools or making is needed — Asmbly's skilled instructors guide campers through everything in a safe, supportive environment, and all materials are included. Campers leave with a finished, fully playable board game they built themselves and the problem-solving mindset to keep iterating on their ideas long after camp ends. Pack a snack and a water bottle to stay fueled through the session, and dress in comfortable clothes ready for a morning or afternoon of making. Multiple sessions are available throughout the summer — browse the dates and grab your maker's spot before they fill up!
